Born and raised on Hatteras Island, Buddy has followed a long family history of boat building. His grandfather Calvin Burrus, built the first boat that became a charter boat, the Jackie Faye, on Hatteras Island in 1931. Buddy has been restoring and repairing boats since he was a teenager, working alongside his father and grandfather. His family business has operated for over 33 years.
In 2000, Buddy began building boats, finishing The Big Tahuna, a classic Foster 50' charter boat, which he owns and operates today. Buddy built the original mold for the Foster 26' by hand and has made several versions for local fishermen over the years. Due to it's popularity Buddy decided to dedicate current operations solely on the manufacturing this model.
